Connecting Humanism to Current Events

September 19 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

Bring any interesting news or magazine articles you’ve read recently and share them with the group. We will discuss them within the framework of Humanism. This will help us better understand our Humanist values as they are applied in our daily lives.

Our host, Ford Caufield is an entrepreneur and along with his wife, a philanthropist. They helped establish the Maumee Valley Unitarian Universalist Congregation and Ford received the “Horace Mann Award” in 1999 from the American Humanist Association, in recognition of philanthropic work funding student tutors in several public schools. (Other past recipients of the award: Ted Turner, Isaac Asimov, Carl Sagan, Jonas E. Salk, Erich Fromm.)
