Activism Begins at Home

6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Sanger Branch Library
3030 Central Ave,, Toledo, Ohio, 43606

Event Type

We have concerns about issues that affect people nationally and globally like income inequality and racism. We sometimes worry that we can’t do much to help here in Toledo. Actually we can do a lot locally that can help many people including our neighbors.

Local activist Sean Nestor will be our guest. He will talk about his activism.

Sean is a grassroots organizer in Toledo whose focus is on promoting democracy and citizen empowerment as a solution to social problems. He has worked on local issues concerning drug policy reform, urban agriculture, tenant’s rights, and the protection of Lake Erie. He is a founding member of Toledo Integrated Media Education, a nonprofit devoted to independent media which operates a community radio station, WAKT 106.1FM.

*This meeting is free and open to the public*

Masking requirements are in flux so please bring yours just in case the venue still requires them. Outside of that it will be a personal choice to wear it at the meeting.
