SUMMARY:2026 Members Meeting
DESCRIPTION:We will be having our annual members meeting on October 7th via Zoom. This is the time when the Board presents the group’s financial picture and plans for the upcoming year. We can also vote on any proposed Bylaw changes or any other issues the membership wishes to bring up. The Board can also answer questions. \n\n\n\nHere is the Zoom link for the meeting: \n\n\n\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/87268306499?pwd=ACjUGuImbfpmVISU3mWCHLitCVN8Ar.1 \n\n\n\nMeeting Agenda \n\n\n\nBoard Nominations \n\n\n\nThe Secular Humanists of Western Lake Erie is a democratic member run group based on a set of Bylaws. Those bylaws\, and the state of Ohio\, require we have a Board of Directors to handle the day-to-day operation of the group. This includes setting policy\, programing for meetings and events\, and maintaining the financial health of the group. \n\n\n\nThere is no previous experience needed to serve on the Board. The only requirement is you have to be a voting member — that is you have paid dues. We meet for no more than hour every other month or more often if needed\, usually online using Zoom. And we do ask you to attend at least one meeting or event each month and make a donation or two if you can. (Donation of time or in-kind goods counts). \n\n\n\nThe officers of the group are selected by the Board from the members of the Board. Other duties of the Board is explained in the SHoWLE Bylaws. We do ask people to serve two year terms but after each year you do have the option to rotate off the Board if you wish to do so. \n\n\n\nThe Board is the main body charged in the day to day operation of the group and if you would like to influence the direction or programing of the group\, joining the board is one way to do it. \n\n\n\nYou can indicate your interest by filling out the form at this link: \n\n\n\nhttps://humanistswle.org/showle-board-of-directors-interest-form \n\n\n\nOr reach out to our President Douglas \n\n\n\nNominations will close during the members meeting on October 7th \n\n\n\nCurrent Board members Anne E. and Derek W. are up for reelection for another two year term. For bio info check out their entries on our Board page \n\n\n\nhttps://humanistswle.org/board
