DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by the American Humanist Association\, we will hav­ing a post­card par­ty on October 5th at 6 PM at the Sanger Branch Library Community Room B. \n\n\n\nWe will be writ­ing and address­ing get-out-the-vote post­cards to poten­tial vot­ers in the state of Virigina. They have an impor­tant repro­duc­tive rights mea­sure on the bal­lot in November. \n\n\n\nIf you joined us the last time we had a post­card par­ty\, you know we did­n’t take the entire 2 hours of time to com­plete it. So arrive on time if you want to help out. \n\n\n\nWe will be in Community Room B

DESCRIPTION:We will be hav­ing our annu­al mem­bers meet­ing on October 7th via Zoom. This is the time when the Board presents the group’s finan­cial pic­ture and plans for the upcom­ing year. We can also vote on any pro­posed Bylaw changes or any oth­er issues the mem­ber­ship wish­es to bring up. The Board can also answer ques­tions. \n\n\n\nHere is the Zoom link for the meet­ing: \n\n\n\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/87268306499?pwd=ACjUGuImbfpmVISU3mWCHLitCVN8Ar.1 \n\n\n\nMeeting Agenda \n\n\n\nBoard Nominations \n\n\n\nThe Secular Humanists of Western Lake Erie is a demo­c­ra­t­ic mem­ber run group based on a set of Bylaws. Those bylaws\, and the state of Ohio\, require we have a Board of Directors to han­dle the day-to-day oper­a­tion of the group. This includes set­ting pol­i­cy\, pro­gram­ing for meet­ings and events\, and main­tain­ing the finan­cial health of the group. \n\n\n\nThere is no pre­vi­ous expe­ri­ence need­ed to serve on the Board. The only require­ment is you have to be a vot­ing mem­ber — that is you have paid dues. We meet for no more than hour every oth­er month or more often if need­ed\, usu­al­ly online using Zoom. And we do ask you to attend at least one meet­ing or event each month and make a dona­tion or two if you can. (Donation of time or in-kind goods counts). \n\n\n\nThe offi­cers of the group are select­ed by the Board from the mem­bers of the Board. Other duties of the Board is explained in the SHoWLE Bylaws. We do ask peo­ple to serve two year terms but after each year you do have the option to rotate off the Board if you wish to do so. \n\n\n\nThe Board is the main body charged in the day to day oper­a­tion of the group and if you would like to influ­ence the direc­tion or pro­gram­ing of the group\, join­ing the board is one way to do it. \n\n\n\nYou can indi­cate your inter­est by fill­ing out the form at this link: \n\n\n\nhttps://humanistswle.org/showle-board-of-directors-interest-form \n\n\n\nOr reach out to our President Douglas \n\n\n\nNominations will close dur­ing the mem­bers meet­ing on October 7th \n\n\n\nCurrent Board mem­bers Anne E. and Derek W. are up for reelec­tion for anoth­er two year term.
