Secular Humanists of Western Lake Erie values people, emphasizes reason, and focuses on this world. We are a democratic, membership run organization with the purpose of providing a supportive, diverse, local community for humanists and other nontheists, while promoting ethical and reasonable secular world views through education, community service, outreach, activism, and social events. Our activities take place mainly in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.

Membership: Open to all Humanists in substantial agreement with our principles.

If you would like to join us, feel free to come to our next meeting or fill out our membership form. If you just have general questions or are a member of the media check out our contact form.

Donations: We are always open to accepting donations. Help us educate the public about Humanism and build a humanist community by donating any amount you can. All donations are tax exempt.

You can also support us by buying items on our wish list and sending to us or arranging to drop them off.

Governance: SHoWLE is operated democratically by the membership of the group. We have a set of Bylaws that govern our group. Learn more about our Executive officers and Board of Directors.

If you consider yourself a Humanist and can subscribe to the AHA’s “Humanism and Its Aspirations” document, then we want you to join our community. Humanist values are based on consensus. You only have to be in substantial agreement to be a Humanist.

Glass City Humanist Podcast

SHoWLE has an outreach podcast that is free to listen to titled the Glass City Humanist. Each episode we talk about living a full, positive, and rational life as a Humanist. Glass City Humanist is for anyone who believes they are a Humanist or who are looking for a different way of living the best life.
