Business Awareness

SHoWLE firmly believes that we should live our Humanist principles 24 hours a day, every day. One way to do that is our business choices. For example, SHoWLE chooses to bank with a credit union so we can be a stakeholder where we keep our money and our deposits help people in the community rather than lining the pockets of shareholders.

On this page you can find a list of Toledo area businesses that use the revenue from customers to support groups and causes that Humanists shouldn’t be supporting such as anti-abortion groups.

This list is a work in progress. It is based on a list compiled by Kristin Hady, who is a reproductive rights advocate.

If you are able to avoid these businesses then we ask that you do. If there is a business not on this list you think should be, let us know. If you are a business owner and think you shouldn’t be on this list please let us know through our contact form and we will check into it for you.
